deuterocanonical

2 Maccabees

15 chapters from the King James Version Apocrypha (1611), with narrated audio for every chapter.

2 Maccabees retells the early years of the Maccabean revolt with its eye on the temple, martyrdom, and God's intervention, condensed from a longer work by Jason of Cyrene. It is the source of the seven brothers and their mother, and of prayer for the dead. Canonical for Catholic and Orthodox Christians, it appears in the 1611 King James Apocrypha.
