Judith is the account of a widow who saves her besieged town by walking into the enemy camp and killing the Assyrian general Holofernes. The book is canonical for Catholic and Orthodox Christians and was printed in the 1611 King James Bible among the Apocrypha. It was most likely written in the second century BC.
