What is Ai?
Ai was a Canaanite city east of Bethel. Israel's first attack on it failed because of Achan's sin (Joshua 7:4, Joshua 7:5), but God then gave the city into Joshua's hand, and Joshua burned it and made it a heap forever (Joshua 8:1, Joshua 8:28).
